A cracking day light breeze, blue sky, Time to to head to the coast for a try. The tide is dropping back quickly as I scramble over the boulders and start flicking a plug into the clear water. After ten minutes there is that satisfying jolt transmitted through the thin braid. A schoolie of close to a pound struggles before being swung ashore. At least their here. A few casts later and its a better fish that takes line and puts a real bend in the rod about 3lb I guess.
A move to a fresh area and I flick the plug out into a pool that is starting to drain out. Three bass shadow the plug two of them probably close to 7lb. I cast with far greater expectation now but its fifteen minutes before another bass smashes the lure a hard fighting 3lb fish. That has engulfed the lure. I put most bass back but this one is destined for the table with a glass of wine.
A great start to the season got the score board ticking over.
Nice one Wayne, great to see you are into the Bass already!
